You CAN quit smoking or vaping and here’s how!

Have you ever felt a persistent voice deep inside, urging you to quit smoking or vaping?  Maybe you’ve thought about giving up, but doubts creep in, making it seem too hard or even impossible to achieve.  But just step back from these thoughts for one second, and ask yourself...‘what if I believed that quitting is not only possible, but easier than I think?’   After all, who would have believed Macclesfield could beat Premier League Crystal Palace?  Anything is possible right?  They got there with a lot of training and self-belief.

It is true that vaping is less harmful than smoking, but let’s be clear, less harmful does not mean harmless.  Vaping has only been around since 2007, and while scientific and medical evidence is emerging, it’s still early days.  Doctors and researchers are starting to share their concerns, and the evidence is growing.  The numbers speak for themselves, there are now officially more people vaping in the UK than smoking cigarettes.

So how can I help with my quit smoking vaping sessions?

Research shows that using multiple techniques together is more effective than using just one technique or willpower alone.  That’s why I combine proven talking therapy techniques (CBT) to dig deep into your mindset, behaviours, thoughts and self-talk around your smoking or vaping habit.  We then use hypnosis to reshape how your mind responds and change the beliefs that have been holding you back.

I use a single session approach, and it’s a joint effort, we work as a team.

Here’s what to expect:

One week before your appointment

  • Complete a smoking/vaping diary,
  • Listen daily to a relaxing hypnosis
  • Fill out a couple of short questionnaires to complete so I can tailor the session to you.

Your 2-hour session:

  • We create an action plan together,
  • Address potential challenges,
  • Identify situations that might tempt you to smoke/vape again,
  • Boost your motivation.

Aftercare (up to 6 weeks post-appointment)

  • Ongoing support and encouragement
  • I’m on your team to help you achieve your goal!
  • If you slip along the way, I’ll help you pick yourself up, understand what happened and keep going!
